"Jolly Roger Firm"
'Beyond the Hatred'
Gilly Black and co-author Tosh McIntosh released their first mutual project in hoolie literature genre, a book titled 'JRF – 'Beyond the Hatred' (stories with the Jolly Roger Firm during late 80’s, 90’s and the early years of the new millennium).
The book was released in Bulgaria and in England too. Now the authors planning to make it available across Europe and World Wide by translating it in another two languages (Dutch & Deutsch).
That's probably the first encounter of hooligans from the so-called 'Eastern Bloc' who are now breaking the silence. One of the chapters is dedicated to Chelsea Pat Dolan (RIP) who had been their mate since 2001.
This is the story of how we first saw all the action take place when we were young boys and that had influenced us and excited us into the desire to become part of the action on the football terraces.
With its hard-hitting stories of what it was like to be at the forefront of the action the book provides a unique account of the adrenalin rush culture of following a football club (Lokomotiv G.O.) home and away, of how we travelled the country battling rival hooligans.
This book tells the stories and reflects on how being part of the Jolly Roger Firm has affected their own lives. Fights on every page, some funny moments and it is clear that a lot of the input came from our proper lads.
It re-counts the run-ins we had with many other football firms incl. Botev Plovdiv, Spartak Pleven, Shumen, Beroe, etc.
It also chronicles the local bloody rivalries with Etar Veliko Tarnovo.
It gives detailed accounts of various clashes we had on home soil from Bulgarian Premier League to the Lower Leagues over the years.
ENJOY THE READ!
